The Bridge is an organizational member of the New York State LGBT Health and Human Services Network and a proud member of the Network`s Healthcare committee. We will continue to offer our community social, supportive, and educational programs throughout 2010. The Bridge pledges to continue to pursue our ultimate goal: establish a local LGBTQ community center offering a vast array of social and educational programs operating as a charitable organization. Our goals and mission will be to: 

•  Provide a safe and welcoming environment and meeting place for all LGBT individuals and allies
•  Empower LGBT individuals and groups to achieve their own goals and potential
•  Expand the public`s awareness and understanding of our local/regional LGBT communities
•  Foster a culture of diversity,inclusion,and equality for all individuals
•  Advocate in defense of human and civil rights secured by law and advocate for the rights of those who do not yet enjoy full civil and legal rights accorded to others, IE: Transgender Civil Rights
•  Lesson neighborhood tensions between the straight and LGBT communities
•  Assist in aiding the elimination of LGBT prejudice and discrimination
•  Seek ways to bring relief to the under-served LGBT populations in northern New York State

                         
                

                 
The Bridge Open House was an enormous success with over 35 people, couples, and lots of kids! The infamous Jeff Sterling representing "Pride and Joy in Families" came and offered all us kids a great magic act! Some people had a "seated massage" and some a little beginner-Yoga exercise; all food just disappeared! I understand some networking took place between some of those attending, especially among "tabled" organizations. Awesome to hear that. And we owe a debt of sincere gratitude and acknowledge this to all our friends at the magazine and those that gave us their support and love!
