ridge is forward looking, preparing to put together a program: an
"Alternative Prom 2011".
As you all know,
this program is also being offered yearly by Albany`s very own Capital District Gay, Lesbian Community Council (CDGLCC). Working together, more students will now have the ability to attend either one prom or both! We hope many more young people will find this closer to home in northern New York if they have experienced travelling to Albany difficult. Older people may choose to attend the Alt. Prom too because, after many, many years of not having had this almost
magical
experience, it was due to the fact that they never had the opportunity. Now, you have choices. The purpose is to enable as many people as possible to access one or both of Prom nights and feel the magic.
Any questions, advice, comments? Let us know!
ABOUT THE BRIDGE:
As a start-up grassroots 501(c)(3) Charitable IRS tax exempt organization, we need to keep our eyes wide open and listen closely to our sister LGBT organizations and professionals alike through our membership of the New York State Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Health & Human Services Network consisting of more than 55 similar organizations. More importantly is what our local LGBT friends and neighbors suggest to us in seeking to help create a community center for everyone of ALL ages. We have much to learn, to give, and to offer each other and our community. This is your organization, a public nonprofit just for our LGBTQ communities, therefore your input and involvement in helping The Bridge in achieving our common goals can only happen through a community-based effort and public support. Please join us as we look ahead to that day when we have our "Grand Opening"!
